Varde is a crescent-shaped shawl worked from the back neck down with increases at the edge stitches on every row. The pattern is made of vertical stripes and uses knot stitches and seed stitches. Varde was named after a commune in the North Sea coast in Denmark, where Evgeniya went for a holiday. She wanted to create a shawl that keeps you warm from the blowing North Sea wind.
