THE VALENTINES DOODLE STANDARD COWL This pattern is worked in the round, beginning with a ribbed bottom edge, followed by design-your-own stranded colorwork, and finishing in ribbing along the top edge.

This is a Doodle Series Pattern, which means it includes micro charts intended to be used as mix-and-match colorwork motifs throughout the project. This design is inspired by vintage florals and hearts for the perfect feminine chart set. Or you can also substitute ANY other Doodle charts!

22 Doodle Motifs included are hearts, cupid’s arrow, argyle, valentines envelope, and several beautiful vintage florals.

YARN

Any DK, light worsted, or sport weight yarn.

Sample uses  Moonglow Yarn Co. Merino DK base, 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 100 g skeins, 231 yards 211 m; Colors: Vintage Valentines Kit

Yardage listed in total yards per size due to the customizable nature of this pattern.

• 340 (400, 465) yards 311 (366, 425) meters
• Approx. (1) 100g skein main color and (3-6) 20g skeins accent colors

NOTE: Tapered version will use slightly less yardage than the standard cowl due to the decreases near the top of the cowl.

NEEDLES

Main Fabric: US 5/3.75 mm or size to obtain gauge
Ribbing: US 4/3.5 mm or one size smaller than gauge
24 or 32 in 60 or 80 cm circular needles, depending on size selected

GAUGE

24 sts and 24 rows per 4 in 10 cm in colorwork

NOTIONS

5 (6, 7) removable stitch markers (one in different color)
Scissors & Tapestry needle
