Please note, I only need to knit some samples and then I will update the pattern to have more inclusive sizing, from 3-12 months, and children to adult up to 28 cm (11”) wide hands. The update will hopefully have clearer instructions as well.

The Valdres mittens are inspired by the traditional Norwegian stranded colourwork sweater Valdreskofte, named after the valley Valdres in Oppland, Norway. The original sweater pattern is available as a free download in Norwegian here:

There are two options for the palm in the pattern. Sizes are changed by changing gauge. I recommend using pure, non-superwash wool for the best stitch definition and warmth.

Det er to alternativer for håndflatene. Størrelse varieres etter strikkefasthet. Jeg, anbefaler å bruke ren ull for å få best mulig fram mønsteret og mest mulig varme.
