The first issue of Rib Magazine featured the Urban Aran Mitts, a pair of quick fingerless mitts showcasing seed stitch and cables. Designed as a companion piece, the Urban Aran Hat uses elements from the mitts, creating the perfect set to keep you or a loved one warm during the new year.

Needles
Needles for small circumference knitting (DPNs or long circular for magic loop) in sizes US 7 / 4.5 mm and US 6 / 4 mm
Or use a needle size to obtain gauge after blocking
Notions
Six stitch markers (one in a distinct color or style for BOR), cable needle, darning needle
Gauge
20 sts and 28 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in St st using larger needles after blocking
Notes
If you wish to lengthen the hat, repeat Rnds 11-14, in full repeats. Repeating any other rnds may disrupt the crown decreases.
