Uptown Scarf
Pattern description from Weekend Knitting: “Here’s a great project for a beginning knitter - or any knitter needing a quick fix. The alpaca-merino yarn is soft and luxurious, a treat for the fingers. The color is soothing and beautiful, candy for the eyes. The knitting - garter stitch all the way through is done on huge needles, thus gratification is super quick. Shown here at a dramatic 8 feet, this scarf can be equally appealing at nearly any length.”
Finished Measurements: 3” wide by 96” long, not including fringe
Yarn:
- Scarf: Blue Sky Bulky (50% alpaca, 50% wool; 45 yards / 100 grams): 2 skeins.
- Fringe: Blue Sky Worsted Hand-Dyes (50% alpaca, 50% wool; 100 yards / 100 grams): approximately 30 yards.
- Shown in book in #1012 blue bulky and #2001 dungaree blue worsted.

- One set straight needles size US 35 (19 mm).
- Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Gauge: 5 sts and 8 rows = 3” in garter stitch.
