SIZING

One size

Finished measurements:
Circumference: 28” / 70cm
Height: 6.5” / 16.25cm

MATERIALS

Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn in 13 coordinating colors

Sample uses Lamb Good Fibers Plush Fingering, 100% Superwash Merino, 438 yds / 100g (87 yds / 20g mini skeins)

Yardage:
MC: 303 yds / 277m
CC1-12: 28 yds / 26m per color

These numbers are estimates based on the pattern measurements as written. Your actual yardage may vary based on the weight of yarn used and/or any modifications you choose to make.

Needle size:
US 3/3.25mm, or size needed to obtain gauge, 16” / 40cm circular

Depending on the yarn used, your needle size may vary to obtain gauge.

Tools:
Scrap yarn for provisional cast on, spare circular needle in same needle size for grafting, stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge:
36 sts x 36 rows = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) in stranded colorwork in the round, after washing and blocking

Notes about gauge:
1. Because of the tube shape of the cowl, your fabric will stretch vertically and contract horizontally when blocking the finished project. When you block your swatch, you may want to stretch it vertically to mimic what will happen in the final blocking to achieve the proper gauge.
2. Because this is an accessory and not a fitted garment, gauge is not crucial, so if it is a bit off in your swatch, your final project will not be negatively affected.
