Under The Tree Socks
Interpretations Vol. 8 is here! This year brings you the charming 8th collaboration between Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki. This collection includes six themes, six words with two designs inspired by each word, showing a personal take on each of these themes.
In 2021 we continued to work together virtually. We found this to be a great opportunity to show you a bit of our home countries. We did the photoshoots separately in our respective major cities: Helsinki and Buenos Aires. Joji’s pictures are taken by Claudia Salazar, Veera’s Jonna Jolkin.

One of the best things about knitting is that not many among my loved ones do it. Every time they see something I made myself, they are puzzled by my ability to create fabric from string and the objects that fascinate non-knitters the most are always socks.
When I make a pair of socks to gift to someone I love, I know they will cherish them. Each stitch I knit adds to the excitement of giving them away. The anticipation of their face when they receive these handmade socks makes each stitch 100% worth the time I invest.
This pair of socks is worked at a heavier-than-usual weight (DK) and knits up quickly so you can gift many, many pairs. Think about upcoming holidays: have you planned your gifts? This is the most perfect project for those last-minute presents.
They are worked from the toe up, so you can make the most of the skein of yarn you have.
SIZES
ONE SIZE

To fit a foot circumference of approx.: 7 (8½, 9)” 17.5 (21, 22.5) cm).Shown in size 1.
MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 (2, 2) skeins of Merino Twist DK by Sweet Fiber (100% Merino; 260 yds 238 m / 115 g), or approx. 260 (280, 300) yards 237 (256, 274) m of DK-weight yarn. Sample shown in colorway Spanish Coin.
Because these socks are knitted from the toe up, you can weigh your yarn before starting and knit one sock until you’ve used 50% of it, then bind off and start the other one. That way you’ll make sure you have enough yarn for both socks.

Other: Locking stitch marker, cable needle, tapestry needle.
