THIS PATTERN IN NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM SHIBUI KNITS
The pattern consists of three pieces.
Two sides of linen pattern used to add interesting texture to the pattern. On the strap, side and the bottom of bag we used the right side of the linen pattern. On the panels we used the wrong side of the linen pattern.
Main piece
First you work on the main piece, which forms the strap, sides and bottom of the bag.
First you work in the round (follow instructions for linen stitch worked in the round), then when doing short row shaping you work flat (follow the instructions for linen stitch worked flat) for 19 rows, then again you work in round (follow instructions for linen stitch worked in the round). Then 19 rows of short row shaping again (follow instructions for linen stitch worked flat), then a couple of rounds again. For BO tips you may read here.
Using short row method you’ll be able to form sides and the bottom. The strap part will be thinnest. Look at photo #3.
Front and back panels.
The panels started by picking up stitches along the side of the main piece. They worked following instructions for linen stitch worked flat FOR THE SIDE PANELS.
