Tyndyrn
Tyndyrn is a textured semicircular shawl of flowing lace and deep cables, inspired by the magnificent lace of Herbert Niebling, and the soaring gothic arches of Tintern Abbey. Tyndyrn is the Welsh name for the site.
-
The main body of the shawl can be worked in 2 main sizes, and the additional edging includes 4 extra ending points and a repeatable mesh edge, for greater length and to make use of any remaining yardage. Extra wedges can also be added to vary the width.
-
The design suits lace to sport weight yarn, of solid, semi solid, very subtle speckle, or gradient colouring.
-
The pattern is charts only, however the early rows have also been written out to get the pattern established.
-
Suits a range of yardages from 700 - 1000m (or possibly more if working in a heavier fingering weight and knitting all the extensions).
This design was created for the dyedianadye Changes MAL, starting August 1.
