Tyler is a textured, contemporary slipover with a superb fit.

The pattern includes optional bust adjustments to add both width and length to the front of your slipover, creating a great fit whatever your shape. And as it’s worked top-down, it’s easy to customise the length. Knit Tyler longer to wear with jeans, or keep it nice and cropped to go over dresses.

With seamless construction and a simple textured stitch pattern that’s easy to memorise, Tyler’s a satisfying knit that adds a handy extra layer to your wardrobe.

And with a gauge and stitch pattern that works for DK or Aran weight yarn, it also works up quickly – meaning you can get it into rotation in your wardrobe nice and fast.

Key information
Tyler is worked top down, starting from the upper back. Increases are worked to shape the sloped shoulders, and then the back is worked down until the bottom of the underarm shaping. Stitches are picked up at shoulders and worked for the fronts, which are then joined at the bottom of the round neck.

After joining the fronts, there’s the option to work a width-based adjustment, before continuing with underarm shaping and joining in the round. There are optional horizontal bust darts to add length to the front of the top and keep the hem even the whole way round, before completing the optional width-adjustment.

The body is worked to preferred length, and then stitches are picked up and ribbing worked at neckline and armholes.

Tyler is written in 9 sizes to fit a full bust from 28in – 66in /70 – 165cm (including full bust adjustment). Where numbers vary, instructions are written as 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) 6, 7, 8, 9.

Suggested yarn
Tyler is designed for DK or Aran weight yarn. The brown sample uses World of Wool Fluff DK (115m per 50g, 100% Merino wool) in Momma Bear, while the lighter sample uses John Arbon Textiles Appledore Aran (167m per 100g, 40% Devon Closewool / 40% Romney / 20% Exmoor Blueface) in Quench.

Choosing a yarn with good stitch definition will get the best results with the textured pattern.

Finished size, fit, and schematic
See the photos for the sizing table.

Tyler is designed to fit with 4-6in / 10-15cm of positive ease at the full bust. As the pattern has fit options, the best way to get the right fit is to start with your actual upper bust measurement and pick the size closest to that. This is taken under the armpits, above your full bust, and gives a truer reflection of your overall frame than a full bust measurement.

Compare the finished chest circumference of this size with your full bust measurement to determine whether or not to work the optional bust adjustment; you can add 2.5in / 6.5cm of width to the front of your slipover with this adjustment.
