Don’t let the cold weather trap you indoors — reach for this cozy cowl instead! A quick knit in aran- or bulky-weight yarn, it features two cabled tendrils scampering up the front, handsome slip-stitch ribbing and a bandana shape that naturally molds itself to your body.

With a quick four-round repeat, the leafy cables are easy to memorize, and they can be knitted without a cable needle. The top of the cowl can be folded down inside for structure and a double layer of warmth.

If you like rich textures and a botanical touch, Two Tendrils is for you!

Thinking about knitting a shawl instead? Or a hat to match? You can find the Two Tendrils Shawl here and the Little Tendril Hat here.

Construction

Two Tendrils is knitted in the round from the bottom up. Decreases at the center front create a tapered bandana shape and allow the two cables to grow toward one another. The cables are bordered with slip-stitch ribs that match slip-stitch ribbing along the cowl’s bottom edge.

Instructions are fully written, with three optional charts.
