Hat: Chain 5, sl st in 2nd chain from hook and across. (4 sts).
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sl st across row.
Repeat row 1 until you have 31 ridges.
Holding short ends together, sl st in ends to join into a circle. (32 ridges).
Row 1: Sc in top of each ridge around, join. (32 sts)
Row 2: SC in BLO around, join.
Row 3: Hdc in each st around; join. Repeat row 3 times.
Row 7: Do hdc dec across 1st 2 sts,hdc in next 3 sts; dec hdc across
next 2 sts, repeat from * around; join.
Row 8: Do hdc dec across 1st 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts; dec hdc across
Next 2 sts, repeat from * around; join.
Row 9: Hdc dc in each 2 sts all around. (6 sts).
Break thread and leave an 8” tail. Thread through remaining stitches; pull up tight and secure. Weave in any loose ends.

Star: Ch 4, sl st to join.
Row 1: Ch 3, sc in center of loop. Repeat 4 times. (5 loops)
Row 2: Sl st into middle of first loop; make sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc.
Sl st into next loop. Repeat stitches until 5 arms of star are
Complete. Fasten off; bury ends. Attach to hat as desired.

Wristlets: Work as brim until 15 ridges are complete. Join as before.
This gives a 5 ½” band which can be worn over mittens, jackets, sleeves, or pant cuffs for extra visibility.

Headband: Work on 7 sts (beginning chain 8) until band is desired length. Sample set made hat, wristlets, and 22” headband from single skein of yarn.
