Twin Set Cardigan
Note: This pattern is only for the cardigan. The pattern for the matching tank top, “Season” can be purchased separately.
Wear this cardigan on its own or as a twin set with the matching “Season“ tank top.
An easy top-down knit, starting with short rows for a better fit around the neck.
The yoke increases are done with Yarn Overs and Make 1 increases. This yoke design resembles the one from “Season” with diagonal Yarn Overs in the front. If you prefer a simpler design, you can omit the Yarn Overs and increase only with the Make 1 increases.
The pattern comes with a cropped and regular length. If you plan to make this cardigan as a twin set, my recommendation is for the length of the cardigan to be a bit longer than the tank top.
The samples are knitted with Saredo Re-re-ly 100% cotton for spring and Summer. For colder seasons this can be also be knit beautifully in a soft merino yarn or even cashmere.
I used to own multiple twin sets in the late 80’s and
according to an article I found the original style began in the 1930’s with another peak in the 50’s & 60’s.
This is my 2022 twin set :) Still a classical feel, but a fun new take, together with the “Season” tank top. Pairs great with anything from a long gather skirt to super wide-leg jeans.
