Pattern suggests Japanese size 5, 6, & 7 straight knitting needles (3.6, 3.9, & 4.2mm). A crochet hook is also required to work edge of button bands.

Gauge is given over 10cm: 19 stitches & 31.5 rows in stockinette stitch (メリヤス編み), and 21 stitches & 40 rows in moss stitch (かのこ編み).
