Tuttu is the sweater for your creativity.

This short-sleeved summer tee has stripes with smooth transitions. They are knit using two strands of fingering weight yarn together. When changing colours for stripes, two yarns of different colours are marled together.

You can choose pretty much any material you want. It could be wool, linen, silk, cotton – the choice is yours. You can use stash yarn, small skeins or mix your special one-of-a-kind skeins. You can work Tuttu tee with two colours, or create multicoloured stripes reminding you of familiar memories. (Tuttu means familiar in Finnish).

Tuttu has a simple raglan construction with generous proportions. It is worked top down without any body shaping. The yoke is without any shaping, front and back are identical so you can wear Tuttu any way you like. The sleeves are short and the cuffs are shaped with some short rows which cover partly the upper part of arm. The neckline and hem have some purl rounds to stop the edge from rolling.

You can use any fingering weight yarn held double, but this may affect the size of the sweater, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US #4(3,5) circulars of 40 and 80 cm.

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers of which one differ-ent, stitch holders or waste yarn.

Gauge for stockinette in the round: 22 sts ja 28 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm withUS #4(3,5) needles, wet blocked.

Tuttu-paita luo pohjan omalle luovuudelle.

Lyhythihainen kesäpaita neulotaan raidalliseksi kahdesta ohuesta langasta lanka kaksinkertaisena. Raidat neulotaan kahdella samanvärisellä langalla ja raitojen vaihtumiskohdissa tehdään kaksi kerrosta kaksi eriväristä lankaa yhdessä, jolloin raitojen väri vaihtuu liukuen.

Materiaali voi olla melkein mitä vain: villaa, kesäiseen päivään sopivaa pellavaa, silkkiä, puuvillaa, oman mielen mukaan. Paitaan voi hyvin käyttää jämälankoja omista varastoista. Myös pienet erikoisvyyhdit, yksittäiset sukkalankavyyhdit, tai muista projekteista ylijääneet langat sopivat. Paidan voi neuloa kahdella värillä, tai raidoittaa siihen omat tutut muistot monin värein.

Paita on malliltaan yksinkertainen raglan ja mitoitukseltaan reilu. Se neulotaan ylhäältä alas ilman vartalomuotoiluja. Kaarroketta ei muotoilla, vaan paita on käännettävä – edestä ja takaa samanlainen. Hihat ovat kesäisen lyhyet ja hihansuut muotoillaan lyhennetyin kerroksin, jolloin hiha peittää hieman käsivarren yläosaa. Kaula-aukon ja helman reunoilla neulotaan nurjia kerroksia, jotka estävät reunojen rullautumisen.

Lanka neulotaan kaksinkertaisena.

Vaihtoehtoiset langat:
Voit käyttää mitä fingering-vahvuista lankaa haluat, mutta langan vahvuus voi vaikuttaa neuleen kokoon, tiheyteen ja tarvittavaan lankamäärään.

Puikot: 3,5 mm pyöröpuikot 40 ja 80 cm.

Tarvikkeet: Neula, silmukkamerkkejä, joista yksi erilainen, silmukanpidikkeitä tai joutolankaa.

Tiheys sileälle neuleelle suljettuna neuleena: 22 s ja 28 krs = 10 x 10 cm 3,5 mm puikoilla, kasteltuna ja pingotettuna.
Neulo mallitilkku ja valitse työhön puikot, joilla saat oikean ti-heyden.
