This lovely hat is knitted in the round using the Fair Isle technique, with breaks in between of plain and purl rows. The pattern repeats are easily memorised which result in rather quick and enjoyable knit.

Materials
West Yorkshire Spinners Croft DK – 100% Wool, 225m to 100g Colour A – Sandvoe 0135
Colour B – Tangwick 1021
Colour C – Greenbank 0404
Colour D – Challister 1019
You will need around 35g of main colour and around 20g of each
contrast colour.
Needles depend on which method you would like to use:
To work in the round on circular needles:
3.5mm - 40cm/16’’ in length
4mm - 60cm/24’’ in length
4mm Double Pointed Needles for shaping the crown
If you wish to knit in the round using the Magic Loop method:
3.5mm and 4mm circular needles minimum 80cm/32’’ in length
If you wish to work in the round using Double Pointed Needles:
3.5mm and 4mm DPNs

Also: stitch marker, tapestry needle and small scissors
Finished size

21.5cm/8.5’’ in height and 22cm/8.6’’ when laid out flat, it will fit an average head. Idea given in the pattern to make the hat larger and longer.

3.5mm DPNs or 80cm in length circular needle
3.5cm pompom maker
Also, tapestry needle and scissors.

Finished size
6.5cm/2.5’’ in height (without pompom) and 6cm/2.3’’ when laid out flat.
