Triton’s Trumpet Shawl
This shawl started as an experiment: what will happen if you add stitches this way? The result is this circular shawl that wraps and wears like a capelet while mimicking the shape of a shell. The attached pendant is a unique focal point and acts as a weight to help the shawl stay in place.
FINISHED SIZE About 28” across neck edge and 22” deep.
YARN Manos Del Uruguay Alegria (distributed by Fairmount Fibers) (75% superwash merino, 25% polyamide; 445 yd (407 m)/3½ oz (100 g)): #A8855 pindó, 3 balls.
HOOK Size F/5 (3.75 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
NOTIONS Yarn needle; 12mm jump ring, 1 (optional); pendant (optional) (sample used “Traditions” brand available from Hobby Lobby).
GAUGE 20 dc and 12 rows = 4”, unblocked.
