This unusual shoulder wrap consists of a slip stitch collar and a textured crochet strip, which wraps over and under itself, to form an unbroken triple loop called a triquetra. The Triquetra is a symbol used in Gaelic mythology and has had many meanings over the millennia…it may, or may not, be magical. It is certainly fascinating, and this wrap will draw attention wherever you wear it.

Due to the use of foundation stitches and slip stitch fabric, this pattern is rated as intermediate.

Yarn: Plymouth Yarn, Mushishi, color 19, 95% wool, 5% silk, 250 grams = 491 yards, worsted weight

Hook: I/9/5.5mm for the slip stitched collar, H/8/5mm for the Triquetra body.

Note: Always use a larger hook for slip stitch fabric, and if you’re a beginner, you might want to try a pointed hook, rather than a rounded one. To make things easier, in this pattern you’ll be working into a fsc instead of a chain stitch.

Gauge: 19 sts + 32 rows = 4 inches in Bss, unblocked. Note: Stitch gauge is not particularly important in this pattern however row gauge does matter. Make a swatch, and adjust your hook size to match the row gauge.
