5 for 4 – if you buy any 5 Åsa Tricosa patterns at the same time you get the least expensive one for free.

Tricsi fastens with one button and is knitted in one piece from a provisional cast-on at the centre back collar down to the hem, collar, front bands and all.

(See Tric for a grown-up version.)

This is a new technique – Åsa’s Top-Down Ziggurat Tricnique (inspired by Tuulia’s Tailored Sweater Method but knitted in one go), featured also in my koronki pattern.)

Step-by-step instructions and a photo tutorial, guide you through the unusual beginning, a bit of zigging, zagging, and zipping back and forth before you’re off and sooner at the hem than you’d thought.

There are, unnecessarily one might think for a child or toddler cardigan, short-rowed shoulders. There is a reason for that – apart from the fact that a child, too, might deserve a more tailored garment at times.

The idea was that Tricsi would closely echo my cardigans and sweaters for adults, a sort of trial run for knitters who may want to try out the Tricnique before perhaps committing to an adult-sized cardigan or sweater.

It’s also just a fun way to try out a new technique.
Besides, Tricsi is rather cute.
