I knitted this hat for the November 2019 KDD “it’s on your heid” knitalong. I was asked for the pattern so here it is.
It is made from small quantities of Buachaille yarn from my stash. I like rainbows and sunsets so I have made what could be either of these. But I think this would work well in monochrome also.
It would be possible to knit the hat in any DK/8ply weight yarn. It will fit an average size adult head
Update 30/11/19 I have knitted monochrome hat using 27g squall and 33g Haar about 2yds each of macallum, Islay and highland coo, and about 3g yaffle. I couldn’t resist adding little bits of colour to the rib. At the time there was snow outside and everything was shades of grey, but if you look carefully there is always some colour in the berries on the bushes, the dead beech leaves, the moss on the fence.
