Twisted stitches combined with elongated criss-crosses create a distinctive, stretchy sock fabric. The criss-cross is echoed at each edge of the heel flap, making this sock design a bit unexpected and enjoyable to knit!
Many knitters (myself included) are drawn to wildly fun, hand-dyed skeins, but aren’t quite sure what to do with them. Some hand-dyes create unexpected pools of color when they are knit. Luckily, by crossing elongated stitches in the Traversus Socks we can resolve this dilemma by distracting the eye from any color pooling that might occur. I love creating stitch patterns that take advantage of the unique characteristics of variegated hand-dyed yarn.
Errata: End leg with Rnd 3 of pattern.
