A triangular scarf or diminutive shawl, this versatile piece will complement any wardrobe. Knit from the center tab towards the edge, with a picot edging at the end. Use a special skein of hand painted sock or fingering weight yarn, and treat your neck to a bit of luxury.

Finished dimensions:
approximately 36 inches wide x 16 inches deep, after blocking

Gauge:
20 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches in stockinette stitch, blocked

Construction notes: The body of this shawl is knit from the center tab out, increasing with yarn overs at the beginning and end of every row, and along the center of the 3-stitch spine on right side rows only. The stitch pattern is basically stockinette, with garter stitch edging and center spine, with purl ridges strategically spaced for a pleasing pattern.
