Tourist Sweater
This tunic is the perfect go to pullover when you need something simple yet stylish. It’s a simple and quite quick knit, with a few twists that will keep the process of knitting it interesting, starting with knitting the collar in one direction, and the rest of the body in another. Since Tourist sweater is designed to be the perfect traveling sweater, it has a kangaroo pouch where you can put what you need to keep most at hand at all times. Finding the perfect buttons for the pouch adds the last touch of fun to the process of making the sweater.
It is designed for bust size ranging from 28/30 to 56/58 inches or 70/75 to 140/145 cm.
When chosing the size you will knit, bare in mind that it’s intended to be worn with at least 1 or 2 inches of positive ease.
Sizes:
To fit bust: 28/30 (32/34, 36/38, 40/42, 44/46, 48/50, 52/54, 56/58) inches; 70/75 (80/85, 90/95, 100/105, 110/115, 120/125, 130/135, 140/145) cm.
Materials:
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted (100g /210y): 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins.
Needles:
US 9 (5.5mm) circular needles. You will need to work with 2 circular needles at the point of joining the pocket. If you use interchangeable needles you can use a set of tips and 2 cables, but you’ll need 2 sets of needles if you use fixed ones.
Other Notions:
8 medium sized (5/8 inch; 1½ cm) buttons.
Stitch markers (aprox. 6).
Row counter (optional).
Crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast on.
Gauge:
16.5 st and 25 rows to 4 inches on US 9 (5.5mm) needles, in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
