TOTO is a Polish word to describe something indescribable. This cape/poncho/bolero/shawl/sweater/vest/hood is knitted top down with short rows technique. Sections worked in one colour are separated with a dropped stitch stripe in contrasting colour. 3 snap fasteners attached in particular places and sequence allow you to wear this garment in every way you could imagine.

This garment can be worked in 4 colours, like in the sample, but it’s also a great project to be worked with less colours. You want a garment with casual and everyday look – choose 2 contrasting colours and work all sections in main colour, and dropped stitch stripes in contrasting one. Plenty of possibilities to choose from makes this garment an indispensable fashion accessory in your wardrobe.

Yarn:
4 skeins (333 m / 50 g) of Noble from HOLST GARN in 4 different colours, the sample was knit in:
C1 (colour 1): light gray (cygnet)
C2: blue (loch)
C3: green (spruce)
C4: orange (redwood)

Sizes: one size

Gauge:
26 sts x 38 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm {4” x 4”} in garter stitch after blocking, with 3.25 mm {US 3} circular needles.

The gauge is not crucial for this project, but big differences will affect the measurements of the finished garment and the yardage requirements.

Needles:
Circular needles in size 3.25 mm {US 3} with at least 100 cm /40” cable

Other notions: 8 stitch markers, 3 snap fasteners (13 mm diameter)
