Top-Down Cardigan in Big Cotton

This cardigan is worked flat from the neck to the armholes, then stitches are placed on hold for the sleeves while the body is worked flat to the bottom edge. When the body is complete, the sleeves are worked in the round to the cuff. Length measurements of the body are given from shoulder to hem.

Size US 17 (12 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm)
Size US 19 (15 mm) circular needles 32’’ (80 cm)

Gauge: Stockinette on size US 19: 7 sts/4”, 9 rows/4”. 1x1 rib on size US 17 9 sts/4’’, 10 rows/4’’. This cardigan is knit in the round so your gauge swatch for stockinette stitch should also be knit in the round - usually knitting stockinette stitch in the round results in tighter tension since there are no purl rows.
