Because this is a bag, and not for wearing, getting gauge isn’t as important as keeping your stitches loose during the intarsia/tooth part of the pattern. If you wish to use two long strands of white for the tooth, each starting one of the tooth’s roots, and split the main color into two bobbins as well, you may wind up with a neater bag if this is your first time trying intarsia. If not, just be sure to carry your yarn VERY LOOSELY across the back of the tooth. You can tighten anything you need to later.
