The cardigan is knit top down in a cable pattern. First, the back and fronts are worked flat to the bottom of the armhole, then the pieces are joined and the body is continued flat. The sleeves are knit down from stitches picked up along the armhole and shaped with decreases. Finally, the neckband is worked and the cardigan is finished with buttons.
