Tiny Birds
Tiny Birds is an asymmetrical triangle wrap with an unusual stitch pattern designed to interweave the colours of a busy variegated yarn in fascinating ways. It begins with a crossover stitch which is later contrasted by a unique 2 coloured lace mesh edge which then breaks up the variegated colours and allows each to shine.
The way the colour ripples through the lace mesh reminds me of a flock of tiny birds that flow through the canopy, a reminder to enjoy the small joys of the moment.
The design suits fingering weight yarn, ideally a variegated yarn and a complementary solid or semi solid. The pictured sample used 1 full skein (150g/525m) of Tambopata (teal & charcoal), and 70g/245m of Jovita (chestnut brown), however the ratio of mesh to texture is entirely up to the knitter.
