About
Many legends are set in Cornwall, but one of the most famous is based in Tintagel. It’s the story of King Arthur. Some of the most famous stories are The Knights of the Round Table and his love for Guinevere. The photo above shows the ruins of Tintagel Castle which is where they are said to have been based.
Tintagel Socks draws inspiration from stained glass windows. There are some beautiful and colourful ones in King Arthur’s Great Hall which is in the town near the Castle. The stained glass shows elements of the stories that we know about. As always in legends, some elements are true and some aren’t. I hope that the love between them and some of the stories are true even if it’s in another time and place.
These socks can be made either toe-up or cuff-down. With a short-row heel with a great fit. With five sizes you will be able to make these for everyone that you love. The half linen stitch sock with the slipped stitch detail makes it a fun and easy sock to keep your interest.
The beauty of these socks is that every pair will be unique and different. Pick out your favourite variegated and find a solid to match, or even pick out two solid yarns for a different feel altogether. I hope these socks can give you a touch of magic like the legends of King Arthur can bring to the world.
