Tignish
The Story
Tignish is a beautiful Prince Edward Island fishing and farming community with a rich musical tradition rooted in its Acadian /Irish heritage.
Tignish is a crescent-shaped shawl worked from the bottom up beginning with a stretchy cast on (a photo tutorial for the Crochet Cast On is included). The lace and cable border extends into groups of twisted knit columns that are gathered into staggered clusters just above the bottom border before they continue to the top of the shawl.
The shaping decreases at the outer edges are worked on both the right and wrong side. Shaping decreases on either side of the centre stitch are worked on right-side rows only until the final few rows.
The pattern is charted only.
