A deep lake in the shadow of a snowy mountain. Tiny ripples of fresh water lap again jags of ice slicing through the calm waters. Silent but for the call of birds. Strength. Peace. This is what I wrap around my shoulders when I swaddle myself in Tiger Lake.

With miles of garter stitch, Tiger Lake has peaceful knitting at its core, interspersed with tapered short row stripes like those on the back of a tiger. The stripes have a simple double seed stitch texture, soft to the touch, but rough to the eye, like scuffed ice. With an eyelet stripe edge and a picot bind off to finish, this shawl merges strength in the details and calm in their simplicity.
