A misprint for size S knitted in one piece -
On page 11 of the pattern, at the bottom left-hand column the instructions say ‘for S, M, L and XL only’ - S should not be included in this section. (there are no figures for S in the brackets, which may have alerted eagle-eyed knitters to the mistake!)

I have added the option of knitting the garment in one piece - without a back seam - and long or short sleeve.

JENNIE ATKINSON’S latest design is a short-sleeved jacket with a dramatic shape. It’s knitted in two pieces in a stretchy horizontal rib pattern, using short-row shaping to make the ribs fan out from the lower fronts. The right front crosses over the left, with buttons at the sides. It can be hard to measure length accurately over the ribbed stitch pattern, so check your tension over stocking stitch.

PATTERN NOTES The jacket is knitted in a horizontal rib made by working alternating bands of stocking stitch from the bottom up. Using short-row shaping at one edge makes the front shorter at the opening edge. The short sleeves are started separately, then joined to the body.
