Tide Pool Spiral Lace Shawl
Imagine the swirls of rushing water flowing in and out of a tide pool, to the rhythm of the crashing ocean waves, and you’ve got the inspira-tion for this airy shawl. The spiral design is created by picking up and knitting a series of triangles that grow in three concentric rings. Each edge of the finished piece is bordered with a simple garter-stitch lace pattern. This type of large square can be worn in a number of ways—open and generously wrapped around, the top third folded over for a shawl collar for a rectangular wrap, folded in half for a smaller rect-angular shape, or folded in half on the diagonal for a triangular shape.
