This thrummed aviator cap begins at the top and increases along four lines, much like the directional winds. The cap is made extra luxe with a touch of silk, and extra warm with thrums, which are bits of fiber worked into the fabric. The earflaps are finished with I-cord tails. You’ll be toasty warm despite the chilly upper atmosphere!

AT 24” in circumference, it is large enough for my 23” head, and still a little loose. The thrums take up some room, but they’ll compact down. If you want to adjust the size, tighten or loosen your gauge (or choose a different yarn to achieve a different gauge). The rhythm of the stitch pattern doesn’t lend itself to adding or subracting a few stitches.
