Thorny Slippers by Lavanya Patricella

Knit in Cardo, our chunky Corriedale wool, these slippers are the perfect companion for chilly fall and winter days. The textured thorn stitch, paired with the bright, hand dyed tones of our yarn, makes them as comforting as they are charming. Corriedale’s natural resilience lends structure and durability, making it ideal for accessories that get plenty of use. You won’t want to take them off!

Construction

These slipper socks are worked in the round from the toe up. The foot and leg lengths can be customized.

The directions are written to accommodate working in the round with double-pointed needles, two circular needles, or the Magic Loop method using one long circular needle.

Gauge

18 sts and 24 rnds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch.
4 repeats of the Thorn Stitch pattern (16 to 24 sts; see Notes) measure 3¾”/9.5cm wide
29 rnds = 4”/10 cm in Thorn Stitch
