Thornton
Thornton will be your companion against any chill. Warm and cozy garter stitch wraps around your neck and shoulders, and the flowing lace reminiscent of the leaveless shrubs and thorny bushes is a pretty adornment to an otherwise substantial piece. Work your shawl in your favourite colour combination and make it your very own!
Yarn: Holst Supersoft, 287 m (314 yards)/50 g
Yardage for sample: approx. 1220 m / 1335 to yards, held double, 4 skeins of MC, 1 skein of CC, shown in colour Prune (MC) and Nougat (CC)
If you use a heavier yarn weight (held single, e.g. dk weight) you will need app. half of the yardage stated above.
You may substitute with any yarn that knits up to gauge. Please keep in mind that differences in gauge affect yardage; so make sure you have enough yarn to finish your project!
Needles: 4.5 mm/US 7, circular needle, cable 80 cm/32” or longer
Notions: stitchmarkers, 1 removable stitchmarker, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, pins for blocking (optional)
Gauge: 16.5 stitches/30 rows in garter stitch, after washing and blocking with relaxed fabric
Size: 180 x80 cm / 71 x 30 inches
Thank you to all my testers for your work and the beautiful shawls you made!
