The Thistleburr fingerless mitts are comfy, cozy, and textured-- perfect for daily wear and people of all genders…not to mention gifting! You can make the Thistleburr fingerless mitts and the matching Thistleburr hat from a single skein of DK yarn, which also makes them perfect for that gorgeous skein you bought with no particular project in mind, but just couldn’t leave behind.

Thistleburr mitts are cast on at the cuff and worked in the round, aside from the thumbhole section, which is worked flat. The texture is created through a fun slipped stitch pattern.

These mitts have a close fit that ends just past the top of the palm. I’ve knit dozens of pairs of fingerless gloves over the years, and this is the fit I prefer because it isn’t bulky and doesn’t get in my way when I’m knitting. If you’d like yours looser or longer, the pattern is easy to modify (though that will require more yarn)!

(Thistleburr is the name of the bookshop in Travis Baldree’s Bookshops and Bonedust. If you’ve been here for a while you know that there’s little that I love more than knitting and a good bookshop!)
