This is Halloween
This is Halloween is an inspiration blanket in honor of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. As an inspiration blanket I have tried to capture the specific characters with different stitches, as well as embrace their color schemes.
Presented you will find: Spiral Hill, Jack, Zero, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Skulls, Lock-Shock-Barrel, Spiders, Dr. Finkelstein, and Santa. As well as a Jack Skellington-esque border to emulate his fantastic collar.
Some of the stitches are: V-Stitch, Granny Spike Stitch, Spike Stitch, Tulip Stitch and Cupcake Stitch, just to name a few. You will also be crocheting in the round, and stitching on a free-form applique (for which there is an exclusive YouTube video provided). There are lots of things here to challenge you if you’ve never done them before.
This is a very generously sized blanket. It fits an American Queen sized bed. I used worsted weight/10 ply yarn to make this, so there is a lot of room to change your yarn and hook size to achieve smaller blankets, like baby gifts.
The pattern as written takes 14 colors, but it only requires about 9 full skeins of yarn.
