NOTE: This sock as been updated and republished.
The original yarns are not longer available, but Malabrigo’s Ultimate Sock Mini’s are a great substitute.

Additional pattern optons have been added, should you want these socks a tad more sedate, as well as some tips for working with non-colorfast yarns.

I have been told that these are the perfect socks for your yoga class or to wear with sandals. I leave that up to you.

This pattern is for a pair of socks that is knit from the top (cuff) down on two circular needles, with an optional 12-inch needle. The socks themselves are created using two different slipped stitches, also known as the mosaic form of knitting. It is the easiest method of “color change” as there is no stranding or carrying the yarn across the row.

All stitches is both written out and charted.

The front and back of the socks are the same until the heel flap.

The directions are written for four sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large (all sized by gauge). Please adjust your yarn size if you’re using larger needles for size L and XL, so they are compatible.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting, slipping stitches, and 2-stitch cabling).

The yarn used to make these socks are partial skeins of \arns in any colors you like, or mini sock skeins. The sample was expertly pattern tested by Marie Franzosa, who can be reached at: franzosm@math.oregonstate.edu.

This pattern is a great way to use up stash yarns. This is fun sock for playing with colors, and changing the look.
