“Witness the white bear of the poles, and the white shark of the tropics; what but their smooth, flaky whiteness makes them the transcendent horrors they are?”
Moby-Dick, “The Whiteness of the Whale”

A cardigan intended to capture a bit of the unearthly quality of Moby-Dick, the white whale.

The fronts and back of this cardigan are worked in pieces from the top down, then seamed to give the garment structure. The sleeves are worked flat from the cuff to the cap. After the cardigan is assembled, a simple garter stitch edging is picked up and worked along the fronts and neck.
