The Very Basic Hat Recipe
by Ellen Easton
To make this hat you first knit a square in garter stitch, and then you pick up stitches at each of the other 3 sides of the square, and start working in the round. Alternate purl rounds and knit rounds (which continues to give you garter stitch) until the hat’s long enough, then bind off. That’s all there is to it!
You can use any yarn/gauge you like.
