I have always been inspired by geometric art. Some of my best knitted pieces have evolved from minimalist paintings, drawings and modern architecture.
This is my second shawl inspired by the work of artist Frank Stella (the first one was The Frank Shawl).
I hope you enjoy knitting it!

About This Project
This geometric shawl is made from 3 similar pieces, worked in sequence. These pieces are built using short rows, to achieve the geometric lines.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 93” (234 cm) wide and 29” (73 cm) deep.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
You will need fingering weight yarn in 4 colors. I used the following, although they can be substituted with any yarn that gives you gauge.
Color 1: Merino Singles by Uschitita 100% Merino; 400y (366m); 100g in colorway Storm (Lightest Blue).
Color 2: Singles by Norne Yarn 65% Merino / 20% Silk / 15% Yak; 525 yards (480m); 120g in colorway The Daughters of Ran (Darkest Blue).
Color 3: Merino Singles by Uschitita 100% Merino; 400y (366m); 100g in colorway Yoga (Medium Blue).
Color 4: Cozy Merino by Walk Collection `[100% Merino; 400y (366m); 100g] in colorway Seafoam (Natural).

You will need 400y (366m) of each color.

Needles: US 6 4mm circular needles, approx. 32”to 40” 80-100 cm long.
Other notions: Tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires.

GAUGE
20 sts and 40 rows to 4” 10 cm in garter st on US 6 4 mm needles after blocking and stretching.
Before measuring, make sure your swatch goes through the same blocking and pinning process as your shawl will.

Happy Knitting!
