The Souffle Beret
This pattern is a quick crochet project using super bulky yarn and a fat crochet hook. It creates a comfortable fitting warm slouchy beanie. It begins with a brim band and then continues in the round, in a spiral, omitting any chaining from round to round, to avoid any seam or ladder effects. This hat will fit an average adult head size of 20 - 23 inches, the depth can be easily manipulated to make a longer or shorter hat. This pattern is written in American crochet terms and is appropriate for a beginner and beyond.
I believe the Q hook is actually 15.75 mm.
