The Sampler Blanket has 30 different patterns, worked in 5 separate strips with 6 patterns each. For each strip, the pattern squares are each bound off, then stitches are picked up for the following square. The strips are crocheted together, and the blanket is finished with a crochet border.

It can be knit in any worsted weight yarn. The sample was knit in String Classica as a very special project, but can just as easily be knit in a superwash. Gauge is not important as this is a blanket, it is only necessary if you want to get to a specific finished measurement.

The entire blanket can be knit in a DK weight yarn as a smaller version for a baby blanket, but there is also a 12 square option for Worsted or heavier included.

For anyone that is familiar with the version of this pattern that was available for many year at String Yarns in NYC as a free pattern with yarn purchase, this is completely revised. It includes photos with a schematic, photos of each pattern square and a chart for each pattern in addition to updated written instructions.
