Based on the book and movie by the same name; this sock depicts the carnivorous plants some young tourists encounter at a remote Mayan ruin. The mirrored climbing vines frame the flowers that go up the front center. In the story the flowers can mimic sounds, and the vines are able to move to retrieve their prey. The sock has some tendrils on the back of the leg before the cuff and nupps that represent the objects the vines have gathered over the years, cell phones, etc. Back of leg is worked in ribbing to accommodate different leg sizes.
Pattern is more for the intermediate knitter as there are a lot of needed skills; toe up, cables, knit below, nupps, tendrils, textured stitches, twisted stitches, and ribbing on sides of heel for increases.
