The Rosses is named for the Irish speaking region of County Donegal called Na Rosa in Irish Gaelic. The simple trinity, or blackberry, stitch is an important element of hand knits, and is often used with pride amongst the hand knitters in the region, as machine knits cannot replicate the intricate stitch. A simple cable braid breaks up the trinity stitch, and both have attractive integrated decreases for the crown.
