The Maggie Ann Cowl is a tribute to my great grandmother who taught my mother to crochet . Without her I would not have learnt to crochet from my mother .

I’ve crocheted it in a pattern easy enough for a beginner to try . Gauge is not important . Using UK terms , it consists of chain , slipstitch , double crochet and trebles . Vintage buttons are attached to one side so there is no need for buttonholes - just use the gaps between the stitches in the pattern .

You’ll need three balls of Cleckheaton Country Wide and four buttons plus a 6.00 mm hook .
