This hat was inspired by watching the fascination of small boys discovering our store’s button display. While mothers are browsing yarns and patterns, their little boys eagerly examine the assortment of children’s buttons, naming and pointing to their favorite vehicles and animals. This hat gives them a fitting landscape to populate with their chosen buttons – an imaginative collection that can be worn, displayed and enjoyed every day. For the knitter, it’s a fast and easy project -- no complicated colorwork. Simple changes in color and stitch create a two-lane blacktop highway rolling through verdant farmland.
