This cloche features an airy stitch pattern, a floppy brim and a big, retro flower.

Fun in self-patterning yarns, the hat also shows boho chic in the Seventies’ favorite frenemies of orange and green.

It’s worked from the top down in joined rounds.

This pattern is sized for women’s and teen’s Small (Medium, Large and Extra Large) with finished circumferences (before hat flares out) of 20 (21, 22, 23) in./51 (53, 56, 58 cm. Narrow elastic cord helps this very stretchy hat keep its shape.

The pattern uses written instructions using American crochet terms.

YARN:
Uses heavy worsted weight yarn, otherwise known as aran, with a suggested gauge of 11 to 12 sc = 4 in./10 cm. A light worsted yarn likely will not hold the hat’s shape. Acrylic aran-weight yarn is ideal.
• For Hat: 143 (150, 158, 165) yd./
