Everyone remembers that first day of chemistry class where you hear the bunsen burner start the first time and that blue white flame gets going. You can probably smell the gas now. And then the teacher gets up and puts different chemicals into the flame to see if they burn a different color. Sodium is orange, Barium is green, Arsenic is blue, Adamantium is silver… Actually, I’m not sure about that last one.
This shawlette is perfect for brightly variegated swirls of color in those single skeins of sock yarn you just can’t help buying. The pooling and flashing gets broken up by the bee stitch and the every other row increases keep the colors moving. Just don’t light it on fire.
